2006: Was a medical redshirt, sitting out the season after suffering an injury. 2005: Earned All-GSAC and NAIA Third-Team All-American honors after an impressive sophomore season…had 1,330 assists (11.67/game) adding 297 digs (2.61/game), 40 blocks (0.35/game) and 41 aces…also had 78 kills (0.68/game) including a career-high six kills in four-game loss at Point Loma Nazarene (11/5/05)…namedGSAC and Region II Setter of the Week twice, earning the honor for the week ending 10/3/05 and again for 10/31/05…cracked the 60-assist mark on five occasions including a career-best 67 assists in a five-game loss at Azusa Pacific (9/13/05)…Also recorded 62 digs in a four-game win over Cornerstone University (8/27/05)2004: Recorded 210 assists (7.78/game) in 12 matches as a freshman…also had 50 digs (1.85/game), 11 kills and 10 aces…season-best of 49 assists and 11 digs came in a four-game win over Alliant University (10/30/04).

HIGH SCHOOL: Was a four-year letterwinner at Murrieta Valley High School in Murrieta…Earned second-teamAll-Southwestern League and second-team All-Valley honors as a senior…also earned All-CIF honorable mention…named MVP during her junior season and earned coaches award as a senior…was a high-school eammate of current Eagle Brittany Wing.

PERSONAL: Major is Kinesiology…parents are Daniel and Doris Perkins…has a younger brother Charlie (19)...participated in Bring It USA promotion Global Challenge tournament in Pula, Croatia with the SCVA High Performance Juniors Team during the summer of 2007.

Varney has earned her place as the only true freshman to make the Pre-Fall Quarter Aggie Spotlight Team. Just months removed from high school, the 5-foot-11 outside hitter is leading the up-and-coming UC Davis volleyball team with 163 kills and 144 digs.

As a six-rotation player, Varney has shown the maturation and consistency of a veteran. Earlier in the season, the freshman tallied a double-double in kills and digs in five straight matches, including a 20-dig, 17-kill outing in a Sept. 7 win over Boise Stat
e University.

Sierra comes to Weber State after playing two seasons at Palomar Junior College. She will be one of three juniors on this year’s Wildcat team.

Played two seasons of volleyball at Palomar Junior College in San Marcos, California...Was the team Co-Captain as a sophomore during the 2006 season and averaged 9.52 assists per game for the Comets...Also averaged 10.2 assists per game in the Pacific Coast Conference and was a first-team All-PCC selection...Was named to the PCC All-Conference Second Team as a freshman.
